Volvo PV544 Sport for sale

VOLVO PV 544 with Sport Specification for sale

Volvo PV544 is the successor to the PV 444. Produced between 1958 and 1966 the car has has endeared itself with the owners very much.

This car left the factory in November 1959 with a standard B16A 1600cc engine fitted with the later four speed version of the gearbox. At some stage the engine has been replaced with a B16B sports engine with twin SUs which develops 85 bhp.

This car looks like it has been refurbished, and presents itself very well. The 544s has only been produced in the LHD option and no RHD options are available.

More info about this car can be found here.

ALL NEW VOLVO XC90

The current Volvo XC90 is a pretty car, but it has been with us since 2003. Volvo has recently announce that the new XC90 is going to be available in 2014, some 12 years after the release of the first generation. Together with the announcement came a few sketches, giving us the idea of what the car is going to look like.

It was also announce that it will be build on a completely new platform, with a new range of engines as well as a plug-in hybrid version developed in conjunction with Siemens. The design seems to follow the new, "Designed Around You" strategy by Volvo, which can be seen on the recently released Volvo V40.

What do you think? Will it be a hit or will it be lost in the already saturated market for SUV's?

VOLVO V40 New Digital Display

Recently I had the chance to experience the All New Volvo V40, and apart from the fact the the interior is just förvånansvärd, I was blow away by the quality of the instruments. By the looks of it, similar instruments will be fitted in the next generations Volvo's. Do you like the idea of digital instruments or would you rather keep with the analogue?
Here is a little video from Volvo. Jellyfish? Really?

VOLVO PV 444 FOR SALE

Today I found a masterpiece - 1947 VOLVO PV 444

This particular car has only done 21980 miles (35000 km) is has been kept in a dealership for the last 10 years. It certainly looks amazing and pretty much brand new. It features a beautiful cream & lime dash and leather seats which look absolutely unused. The car is available for sale in Sweden but delivery to any European country can be arranged.

The PV 444 was introduced by Volvo right after the second world war, as the company saw the need for a new small family car, delivering good comfort and fuel efficiency. To begin with the car was sold with a 1.4L 40hp 4 cylinder in-line engine, coupled to a 3 speed manual gearbox. In 1955 the PV 444 has undergone an extensive face-lift. It sported a  much bigger front windscreen, new bumpers, new front grill and a new rage of improved engines.
In 1958 the PV 444 was replaced by the PV 544.

Volvo V60 Plug-In Hybird Sound

Today Volvo has asked their Facebook fans about their suggestions on what the Volvo V60 Plug-In Hybrid should sound like when it is driving on just the electric motors. The idea is simple. When the car drives using the electric motor it is very quite and therefore can be dangerous to pedestrians who will not be alerted by the usual motor noise.
So Volvo decided to "give it a noise."

People on Facebook have suggested sounds like the old T5, T6, R, D5, V8 and so on and so on. Some even suggested that owner should be able to change the sound himself which I think would be a genius feature.

Or maybe you think that creating an artificial noise just because the car is quite, isn't a very good idea? Electric cars are better for the environment partly because they are quite, so why should we spoil it?

I would love to hear your opinions on this matter.

Volvo PV 830 for sale

Today I have found a very rare car for sale Volvo PV 830. This was a successor to the PV 800-810 manufactured in the 1940's. It was originally produced as a taxi but has also served as an ambulance, or a school bus because it could carry up to 9 passengers.
The car on offer was produced in 1954 and is a project car in a good condition. It cost £3950 which for such a rare car is a very good price.

Enjoy!
